MATE ROV

Warrior Tides

I joined my school’s MATE ROV Underwater Robotics Team in my junior year as the Software Lead for our Varsity (Ranger) team. In that role, I built ROV control systems using Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and sensor-driven PID control. I integrated pH, IMU, and depth sensors via low-latency UDP communication and developed OpenCV and ReactJS tools for imaging, measurement, and live diagnostics to support missions in dynamic marine environments.

Now, as a senior, I serve as Co-President of the 21-member Ranger team. I help recruit and mentor new members while advancing my goal of promoting women in STEM. In fact, this is our first year with an all-female leadership team across both varsity and junior varsity levels. In addition to managing team productivity and meetings, I continue to lead software development as we prepare for our upcoming Regional Competition in April.

Corporate Responsibility

As engineers, we recognize our corporate responsibility to share knowledge and give back to the environment. This led to the creation of our first Valley Christian Scout team, our annual week-long engineering workshop for 3rd–5th graders, and a creek cleanup.
